Write Copy That Sells But Not Sleazy
How you can sell more products and make more money.
Selling should not be sleazy. Great ad copy that sells millions and makes the reader and audience say, “I have got to have this.” That’s how you sell so that the customer is a raving fan.
Many teach dodgy, slimy, and super aggressive sales tactics. Obviously that works too, that kind of selling leave a nasty taste for the customer. And it doesn’t work for most people who need to sell their products, coaching and services.
Aggressive and manipulative sell is the style I originally learned from the biggest old school marketers in the world, but it never felt right to me. No matter how much I tried, I didn’t like it and I didn’t sell well like that because it was authentic for me.
Then I decided to throw out all the aggressive sales tactics and find a way to sell without being salesy.
That’s when everything changed.
That’s when I started to sell products and programs like hot cakes.
Most coaches to make enough money to earn a good living because they don’t know how to connect with an audience that makes them want to buy a coaching program.
Most home based online business start-ups never earn money because they never learn how to sell.
Why? Because it is not authentic and in alignment with who they are.
The funny thing is that most of us are natural born selling machines. We have been since we were children. But then as adults, you “try” to sell things and can’t. Why is that?
Because you are trying to sell in an artificial way that is not congruent in who you are. . When you should really be doing what you’ve always done. Connect and inspire.
When you were a child, and you wanted an ice cream, most of the time you got what you wanted. You asked nicely. Then you’d asked with excitement, then you were more direct and demanding, and if necessary, you threw a temper tantrum. Tantrums work for kids by don’t well in the business world, so don’t that.
Depending on the parent, you persuaded differently. My daughter asks me in a sweet daddy’s princess voice. But to her mom, she is less delicate. If she talks to me like she talks to her mom, she gets a quick no, that is final. And often a lecture about how to communicate. But when my teen daughter smiles and says sweetly, “Daddy, can we eat sushi tonight? I am craving sushi.” I almost always say yes.
Obviously, there are different styles of selling. The one that will work for you is the one that is most aligned with who you are naturally. Of course, you have to adapt to your audience but still being authentic.
Don’t believe that hype.
Most people are afraid to sell because they feel like it will make them a slimy sales person. But it doesn’t have to. You can still sell millions of dollars of products, programs and coaching and stay true to who you are and who you want to be.
In fact, you shouldn’t sell.
How do you sell without selling?
Connect, educate, and inspire. We all love to buy things. Most people crave to buy things, so help them understand why your product, coaching program, service is what they need because it will transform their life.
You have to share with them how their life will be better because they bought you make-up product, nutrition supplement, or buy your book, widget, or online program.
Within weeks, my kickstarter promotion for my Dream Big Life Planner, landed in the top 10 of all kickstarter for month of November selling almost $80,000 in journals in 30 days.
My program Instant Manifestation Secrets, sold over $500,000 in just a few months. That’s over a half million dollars of a digital product with little overhead. All this with no hard selling, no slimy sales tactics, no empty promises. I simply share a shared idea, educate about the problem and how to solve it, and then offer the product that solves a problem.
It’s that simple.
Of course there are techniques and strategies, but don’t overcomplicate it. When you over complicate things, you sell less. Way less.

You are going to go on the most amazing dream vacation of your life. We have to wake at 4am after packing all night after only sleeping for a few hours. We will get to the airport 2–3 hours early, wait in several lines for what seems like hours and actually is, take off our shoes and have our body scanned as we go through security.
Then wait for a plane to be cow cattled into an over crowded plane for 17 hours and then go through immigration in a language you don’t understand so that you feel like a criminal. If you were told all the details, you’d never want to go on vacation again. And yet, this is what most people do when they are new to selling. Way too many unimportant details that actually loses sales and scare people away.
